LISBON – one of our favourite destinations! It is a fantastic city for a weekend break, but you will come away wishing you had more time to explore its many districts. Do a bit of shopping in downtown Lisbon or visit one of the many shopping centres. Take a stroll around the Barrio Alto. If it’s history, that you are into then Lisbon is the place for you. Did you know that St Anthony – Patron saint of lost and found was born here in Lisbon? You can visit the site of his birth and nearby Cathedral. Take a hop on hop off bus stopping off in the Belem district and visit the magnificent Jeronimos Monastery, the monument to the discoveries and much much more! Don’t forget to try their delicious Pastel de Nata (custard tart) this is a must – you won’t regret it! Take a trip across the river to Almada and visit Christ the King Statue a replica of Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio. Why not take the short train journey to the coast and visit the costal resorts of Cascais & Estoril. At night go to a Fado or perhaps visit the Docas area for bars, clubs and restaurants on the waterfront! Lisbon really has a lot to offer!
