SUSTAINABILITY POLICY

At Premier Travel, we believe that sustainable tourism is tourism that takes full account of its current and future economic, social, and environmental impacts while addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, the environment, and host communities (UNWTO, n.d.).

We are at the beginning of our sustainable journey but our core aim is to ensure that each of our visitors enjoys a rewarding and authentic experience whilst we attempt to reduce our negative effects and increase our positive impacts.

Reduce our impact on the environment: 

• By measuring our energy consumption and introducing measures to reduce our usage
• By monitoring and reducing all waste within our own office and by encouraging our suppliers to use recyclable products and Sustainable practices
• By monitoring and reducing our water consumption.
• By outlining a “LEAVE NO TRACE” policy on our itineraries to encourage our suppliers and visitors to follow similar practices.

Protect and support local industry and communities thereby increasing our positive impacts:

• We intend to expand our “SLOW TOURISM” products in less well-known destinations.
• We intend to expand our existing “SOLIDARITY PROGRAMMES” whereby the visiting group and the agency provide a financial donation to a voluntary association in a local community.
• We intend to educate our guides on our sustainable tourism policy.

We are committed to continually developing our Sustainability Policy in line with current and future environmental, social and economic impacts, addressing the needs of visitors, the industry, and communities in equal measure.   In this regard, as members of ITOA, we will participate in any ongoing Training initiatives offered, with an aim to be certified in Responsible Tourism to a recognised standard.
